In Joie's class, parents can sign up to help correct different parts of weekly assignments. We signed up to correct the weekly homework page which is grammer on the front and math on the back. Joie did not know we had signed up, and this was the first week the teacher sent the papers home to be corrected. The students can choose to write their name or their class number at the top of the page. As I was correcting papers, I came to a completely blank paper, with nothing but the student number at the top of the page. In my mind I'm thinking, "Who would turn in a completely blank page?" That lead to my next thought, which was one of curiousity: "Who is this child?" (And more especially, who are their parents?) I looked up the number on the scoring sheet, and just in case you haven't guessed it by now, the delinquent student was Joie Jarman. She told us the homework was done. In actuality, she turned in a blank paper not knowing her parents would be the ones grading the homework. ...Can't wait to see the look on her face when I show her the paper in the morning (heh, heh, heh.). And I have to add that I was slightly vindicated when the teacher's own son, who is also in the class, turned in a paper that was blank on one side.
