Sunday Sharing

Four days until Thanksgiving.  Two days until we leave for Moab.  Two days until Tim and I have been married 17 years...a lot happening this week!

Whenever we make a list of things we say we're thankful for when we put our kernels in our jar (see here), someone will inevitably say (as I'm writing things down), "Are you blogging about this?"

So are you ready for the world's longest list?  These were all said this year, mostly by our children.

Family, school, basketball, life, water, food, shelter, electricity, energy, renewable energy, entertainment, Lundburgs, pictures, scouting, memories, manners, Gabby and Joie (just for the record, Jeran said that), m&m's, slinkys, pets, cousins, Moab, Nathan and Jeran (and also for the record, Gabby said that), friends, school, no shots, junior high, volleyball, a clean garage, bikes, pie, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, chairs, Jason & Brooke, my teacher, bubble gum, choir, chips, rabbits, music, Juniper, Grandma & Grandpa Jarman, Grandma & Grandpa Campbell, Grandma Susan, Barcy and Jake, comforts of home, indoor plumbing, religious freedom, oxygen, "broccoli, celery, gotta be...Veggie Tales," angels, angel kisses, freckles, Mom's list making skills, lockers I can fit into, Pavithra, Janet, Plan of Salvation, sanitation, Youth Conference, Girl's Camp, "the Bishop-brick," toilets that flush, compassion, clothes, Jeran's puffy hair, Nate's wavy hair, exercise, super heros, the birds that fly into our roof and the mice that live in the cabin, orange jeans, Utes, education, SUU, USU, forks and spoons but not knives, fairies, princesses, ponies and unicorns (detect any teen sarcasm?), roast beef, haircuts, Costco, amoxicillin, Singlets (gum), puppies, kittens, rugby, soccer, prophets, memories, freedom, work, gas in our car, "all my doctors," (Nate is a much healthier kid this year than he was last year...so me too on the doctors, and amoxicillin...and health), candles, scriptures, nature, sleep, sunshine, cars, Nate driving soon, all kinds of weather, shampoo...

Then there's the list we started when I asked the kids to think about the quote I shared last week:  "What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?"  It didn't take long for my very bright and witty children to turn the gratitude list that day into a wish list:  trampolines, a million dollars, Mom letting us watch Sponge Bob, Disney World vacation, genie and 5 wishes...  Aren't they so funny.

Moab, cousins, and beautiful weather, here we come!  We're leaving the turkey home this year because the weather looks gorgeous, and we'll be enjoying the bounties of nature in what I'm sure must be one of God's playgrounds.

(And just warning everyone who is coming with us to Moab...don't say "pilgrims and Indians," but you can say "pilgrims and Native Americans."  But just in case you mess up, Gabby will correct you.)
